Dalmeny Bowls
An overcast Easter Monday saw 32 bowlers once again scrap-metalized by Doug where the lowest winning margin decided the winners on 9 in the Narooma boys Darryl Badrim, Ken Ring-at-home and Mike Civac-back from the runners-up on 10 in Brett Off-white Pork, Top- card Ace and Towelling Lewis. The only resting toucher was scored by Sailor Brian and the $137 jackpot did not go off nor was there a wrong bias sinner. The lucky losing rink was 10 and good for Dig, Snoopy Leigh and Emberly Footprint and the raffle prizes went to Barry Leg-inter, Ace and Ian East-off.
A slightly overcast and windy Thursday saw only 16 bowlers booked together by Garry L- Rentacar and had the highest winning margin deciding the winners on 13 in Cobber Pete, Chef Keith and Punter Alan from the runners-up on 6 in Marg Ponder and Kath Wiskey and An. The first resting toucher was recorded by the Macedonian Illya but again the $100jackpot didn't go off. Sinner Illya recorded 2 wrong bias with 1 only by Cobber Peter, Tap-back Wooflam, and Gram-back Laker while the raffle prizes organised by L-Rentacar Eileen went to the ladies gospeller Anne, Steal-in Stonely and Lois Mac or Greg. The remaining semi-final match in the major singles between Sienna Don and Par Budin is to be played next Saturday with the final matching the winner against Chef Keith to be played possibly next Sunday. Sunday saw the annual charity Fisho's verses Bowlo's match with a full rink of 43 players. Certain participants wearing a fish on their shoulder told of a close tussle but in reality it was a clear win by the bowlo's for the first time in years which was a bit of a shock to Par B.
Narooma Women's Bowls
Social bowls, April 6: There were sufficient bowlers for a game of fours with the welcome arrival of Alison Maloney last Tuesday. Alison did a superb job playing the lead for both teams. Combining with Sue Waldock, Sue Bender and Gail Palmer (skip) this team got away to a great start, then Pam Grant (skip) led her team including Alison, Coral Read and Betty Greenshields to a score of 10 all after fourteen ends. Then, in a very close finish Pam's team got up on the last end to win by one shot. A very enjoyable game!
