"Fish are still getting caught but much harder to find although sand flathead are still the go to with bag limits reached regularly," he said.
"Snapper and morwong continue to be caught around Montague Island with reports of yellowfin tuna beginning to filter through, so a trip wide off Montague will certainly be worthwhile.
"Bream and flathead in Wagonga Inlet are still to be found but with the water cooling, be prepared to work hard for them soon.
"Mulloway, this time of the year, will make a welcome appearance, larger soft plastics should be used to target them," Les said.
Meanwhile the team at Tackle World Moruya are reporting good whiting have been spotted under the Moruya River town bridge as the water quality has started to improve upstream. There has also been a few nice bream and the usual flathead.
In the evening on a rising tide estuary perch have been seen chasing prawns and baitfish close to the surface. The Tackle World Moruya team are recommending using 2.5" soft plastic grubs on medium weighted jig heads to tempt the hard fighting estuary perch.
Towards the front of the Moruya River system there have been some good catches of flathead, bream and good sized trevally have been reported.
Try fishing the areas around Preddy's Wharf and the Hole in the Wall all the way up to Ryan's Creek.
For those who prefer to use live bait, the nipper beds around Garlandtown are improving following the Christmas rush.
The Tuross River is starting to open up as the cleaner water starts to make its way further upstream. Flathead and bream are still in good numbers around the lower section with four ways starting to show more action.
The water under the Bodalla Bridge still has a dirty look, however there has still been the odd bream hanging around.
Rock and beach fishing seems to be catching good numbers of salmon with tailor making their appearance at first light and dusk. Reports of good sized tailor up to 40cm are being reported.
Moruya breakwall is producing well with bream, flathead, trevally and salmon and offshore the flathead are still in good numbers off Tuross and Congo with snapper further out.
