With local government elections looming, it's time to decide if you're interested in running as a candidate this year.
Eurobodalla's residents and ratepayers will go to the polls on Saturday, September 4 to elect eight councillors and a mayor.
For the next three years, councillors will work together to provide good governance for the benefit of the local community.
Council will host two information sessions on Wednesday, July 21 for people interested in running as a candidate in the 2021 local government election.
Local government elections are usually held every four years in NSW, but due to the 2020 election being postponed last year, the current council is serving a five-year term and the newly-elected Council will serve three.
To help potential candidates gain a better understanding of what's involved, councillors from other shires will share their experiences and answer questions about the role at two information sessions.
Attendees will learn how being a councillor fits in with other levels of government, what's involved in standing for the election and leadership and professional development opportunities.
The two sessions will be held on Wednesday, July 21 at the Moruya council chambers at 1.30pm and 6pm.
To RSVP phone council officer Anna Waters on 4474 1358 or email Anna.Waters@esc.nsw.gov.au by 4pm on Monday, July 19.
