South East Racing Pigeon Combine race from Boorowa

Last Saturday, August 14, the South East Racing Pigeon Combine (SERPC) raced from Boorowa. After waiting for heavy fog to clear, 110 pigeons were finally released at 10am, by John Mette and Graham Ford.

The birds sped away in the direction of their lofts ranging in distances from 203km to 250km.

The winning bird, owned and raced by Mario and Barbie Magrin recorded a velocity of 1370 metres per minute.

A sponsored Two Birder Event was also held, generously Sponsored by Keen Dentures Batehaven.

Each flyer nominates two of their birds, the first two home wins the event. The winners were Mario and Barbie Magrin.

The SERPC will be moving on to Goologong, (between Cowra and Forbes) hopefully after the current seven day lockdown expires.

Anyone interested in this sport or finds an injured or lost Race Pigeon can contact the combine through their Website or Facebook page.
