Only 122 players teed off on Thursday under the new COVID-19 protocols for golf but they made the most of the opportunity. In A Grade Bill Durnan prevailed with 39 points off his handicap of 7, albeit on countback from Robert Sayers and Tom Boyton.
In B Grade Mark Falconer continued his good form of late in registering the best score of the day with 42 points off his handicap of 18, while David Alexander and Michael Wuttke-Hayes filled the minor positions with 40 and 37 points respectively.
A four-way countback on 40 points was needed to determine the winner in C Grade as Chris Fondum off his handicap of 21, with Troy Beecham and Ron McDonald in the minor positions and Kyle Dixon missing out.
The NTP winners were Glenn Mood on 3, Paul Stokes on 9,Bernie Krueger on 14 and Shaun Martyn on 17, while the ball competition went down as far as Simon Carr on 32 points on countback.
An exceptionally large winter field of 160 players took advantage of the pleasant weather conditions on Saturday, even though it took considerable time to get the field through in pairs.
A Grade was taken out by Jason Andrew with 38 points off his handicap of 5. Matt Dunn took second place on 37 points and Paul Mood third with 36 points on countback from Scott Ker.
In B Grade Perry Pericleous posted the best score of the day with 44 points off his handicap of 20 to win easily from Nigel Roberts on 38 points. Kevin Mitchell took third place with 37 points on countback from Michael Commins.
In C Grade Ross Giblett registered 41 points off his handicap of 22 to edge out Jennifer Walker on countback with Marea Clarke in third place on 40 points.
The NTP winners were Scott Ker on both 3 and 17, Sam Nicholls on 9 and Marion Brooks on 14 with the ball competition going down to Ian Vincent on 32 points on countback. RGI
Narooma ladies golf
Narooma Ladies played a medley single stableford with 28 entrants last Monday.
Division 1, 0-28 winner was Julie Blessington with 36 points. Runner up was Jan Boxsell with a close score of 35 points. Division 2, 29-45 winner was Vicky Connaughton with a great score of 41 and runner up also with a great score of 37 was Margaret Brown.
NTP. Christine Hendra on the 3rd, Division 3, Chris Fader on the 14th, Division 1 and Margaret Brown on the 17th, Division 2. Balls to 32.
On Wednesday 32 Narooma Ladies played a single stableford groups of two on a beautiful day.
Division 1, 0-29 winner was Sylvia Donohoe with a great score of 40 off handicap of 4. Runner up was Tanya Desmond with a score of 35 OCB off handicap of 18.
Division 2, 30-45 winner was Christine Hendra with a score of 40 off handicap of 36. Runner up was Janice Eardley with a score of 36 off handicap of 30.
