The Red Cross is calling out to keen knitters in the Eurobodalla Shire to help contribute to their supply of Trauma Teddies, which are running low.

Since 1990, the Red Cross Trauma Teddy has helped provide comfort to countless children in times of crisis.
During the lockdown, Red Cross volunteers have packed and delivered more than 280 activity packs to children across the shire from Mogo to Bermagui, with the help of the area's Aboriginal Land Councils.

The activity packs include bits and pieces to keep children entertained, as well as a knitted Trauma Teddy to play with.
But stocks are now running low, and as the Red Cross aims to distribute more packs to children as well as expand teddy donations to aged care dementia wards, it's time to get knitting.

To get involved, download the Trauma Teddy pattern on the Red Cross website. It takes about five hours to knit each Teddy, making it a perfect lockdown activity.
Once restrictions ease, drop your knitted teddies at a library branch in Batemans Bay, Moruya or Narooma who will pass them on to the Red Cross.
