A Batemans Bay retiree is planning to celebrate his first week out of lockdown with a new car after scoring $100,000 in a Lucky Lotteries draw.
The man scored the $100,000 first prize in Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot draw 10495, drawn on Monday, October 11.
When an official from The Lott finally got hold of the winner to deliver the thrilling news, he admitted he'd been waiting for a win to land his way for a long time.
"Wow! That's fantastic!" he laughed.
"I opened my emails earlier and I was left speechless. It's great news to start my week.
"Lucky Lotteries has been one of my favourite games to play. It's been around since I was young!
"I've had many wins over the years, but not one this big! How good!"
When asked how the prize would make a difference to his life, the winning man explained he'd been eyeing off a new set of wheels.
"A new car has been on my mind for a while now. I'm thinking a car from Kia!" he shared.
"Otherwise, we're just happy to be out of lockdown today. Perhaps I can treat the family to a nice dinner."
His winning entry of 10 random numbers was purchased at Batehaven Newsagency, 248 Beach Road, Batehaven.
Batehaven Newsagency co-owner Joel Amor said the team was over the moon for the regular customer.
"It's so exciting! We've only owned the newsagency for just over a year now. This is the first major lottery prize that we've sold," he revealed.
"We're so happy to see the win go to a regular customer. It's amazing.
"On behalf of the team at Batehaven Newsagency, we'd like to wish him a big congratulations. All the best with your windfall!"
So far in 2021, there have been three Lucky Lotteries winning entries in the Illawarra and Southeast New South Wales region, collectively worth more than $300,000.
