The clubs have been split into a southern and northern pool - each team will play the other teams and their pool and one team from the other pool over a five-week regular season.
The competition will end on December 18 with a bumper day of cricket as both semi finals and the Grand Final will be played in Bega.
A B-Grade competition will also run for clubs that have enough players to form two teams.
Here's what to expect from every A-Grade team this season, as well as key players to watch.
Southern Pool
Eden
Players to Watch: Jack Caldwell, Rahul Mudaliar, and Joey Elton will all look to make the jumper from under 15s to seniors this season and cement themselves in the A-Grade side. Rahul looks the pick as an already established opening bat and emerging quick.
Pat Kearney has put together match-winning results for Eden for years, but showed off in last year's grand final when he smashed 40 runs off two overs the seal the result. He'll look for more consistency in 2021-22.
Expected Pool Finish: 1st. Eden had strong performances in both one-day and two-day cricket last summer, and we believe they're the team to beat again in 2021-22. The first game against Bega-Angledale shapes as an excellent match, and could be a preview of one of the finals on December 18.
Mallacoota
Player to Watch: Paul Preston is one of the best bats in the competition and proved way too strong for B-Grade last season with an average of more than 50, including a massive score of 133 against Narooma.
Expected Pool Finish: 4th. Mallacoota has a good mix of experienced players and exciting youngers for the Twenty20 side, but batting is their strength. Their home-field advantage could prove crucial as well, as visiting teams will need to weigh up whether to spend the night or travel early in the morning.
Merimbula
Players to Watch: Brendan Daley, Ash Ponstance and Joel Whiteford will need to step up this season to replace experienced players who have moved on. Beau Bennett is also making the leap from junior grades and has a strong reputation that he'll look to grow in the seniors.
Expected Pool Finish: 3rd. One could say the Knights are in a rebuilding phase after losing a few players from last season, but we still feel their strong rank of juniors will help them stay afloat this season.
Pambula
Players to Watch: Pambula has traditionally relied very heavily on the success of the Hammond brothers, and that doesn't look like changing this summer. However, the young McAlpin brothers will also give Pambula a lot of fire power in the short form of the game.
Expected Pool Finish: 2nd. Pambula have been near the top of the competition for the past couple of seasons and have a squad that can compete with the very best teams in the competition.
Wolumla
Players to Watch: Mitch Venables was Wolumla's best bat last season in B Grade, scoring 380 runs with a top score of 83, and we see no reason that form won't translate to A Grade.
Expected Pool Finish: 5th. Wolumla's bats will keep them in a lot of games, but there are some question marks over the bowling and fielding against the competition's best teams.
Northern Pool
Bega-Angledale
Players to Watch: Young quick Sam Griffin is expected to thrive in his second season of A Grade. Brad Moon will also look to improve in his strong summer last year, and new players Tony Payne and Sushil Bhusal have both impressed during pre-season.
Expected Pool Finish: 2nd. The Bulls had a disappointing one-day season last year, but turned it around well in the two-day competition with some strong wins. New captain Jay Trevaskis has brought in several new players who will compete for spots with a strong contingent of local juniors.
Bermagui
Players to Watch: Sean Lambert was one of the stars of the competition last year with both the bat and ball, and he was ably assisted by both Ben Tett and Liam Cooper. Experienced Englishman Julian Poulter should also explode this year after a summer getting in tune with Australian conditions.
Expected Pool Finish: 1st. Bermagui finished in the top four last season, and still has arguably the longest batting line up in the competition. Bermagui Oval is always a highlight for visiting teams, but stands as a fortress for the home side.
Kameruka
Players to Watch: Roland Jones-Whittem could rack up some big scores on Kameruka's small field, but this side may embody the idea of 'team' better than any other in the competition.
Expected Pool Finish: 5th. Kameruka impressed in the one-day competition last summer, and will put up some big scores at their home ground, but they may be a little off the pace this summer.
Narooma
Players to Watch: Dean Friskin will lead an exciting crop of local juniors into this year's competition, and the aim is to play finals.
Expected Pool Finish: 4th. With a new name and a turnover of experienced players, the Narooma Cricket Club are an unknown factor in the competition. The juniors may be a little green to dominate A Grade this year, but this is certainly a club to watch for the future.
Tathra
Players to Watch: Young legspinner Cody Preo was selected in the South East U19s side to compete in Canberra, and is a genuine matchwinner with his fast, accurate leggies.
Expected Pool Finish: 3rd. This will be a new-look Tathra side as many experienced players retired at the end of last summer. They'll still be very capable though, and the lure of leather on willow may tempt some of the older guys to return to the pitch.
