Miller was due to become a restricted free agent after next season, but the 25-year-old's new deal ties him to the Suns until the end of 2027.

That will take him through to 31 and Gold Coast say the deal makes him a Sun "for life".

The good news is timely for Gold Coast after they were blindsided by North Melbourne, who signed Greenwood on Monday in a free agency heist.

The Kangaroos pounced after the Suns had delisted Greenwood, with the intention that Gold Coast would re-draft him.

But there is no longer any uncertainty about Miller's future at Gold Coast.

"I'm super grateful and humbled to be extending my contract for another five years," Miller said.

"It's a really exciting time to be a part of this club and what we're going to do going forward, so I was absolutely over the moon to extend.

"To see success at this club, I think it's really important that I'm here for that and I get to be a part of that, it will be pretty special."

Miller's re-signing is a significant boost for the Suns, given his first All-Australian selection was a rare bright spot in another disappointing season.

Gold Coast, who are yet to make the finals, only won seven games and finished third-last.

They also have coach Stuart Dew and young guns Ben King, Jack Lukosius and Izak Rankine coming out of contract.

Miller's long-term deal eliminates one major distraction over their heads next season and he is also bullish about what the Suns can achieve.

"Moving forward there's still so much growth and opportunity," Miller said.

"Now that I've had a taste for that success individually I'd love to transfer that to more success for the team.

"I think as the team gets better, I will get better, my teammates will get better.

"We've got some players in our team that are going to be far greater than I am as a player and that's off the back of us being really successful as a team and working together really strongly."

Also on Tuesday, Gold Coast announced key sponsor Austworld had extended their support for three years.
