The Pambula Wetlands and Heritage Project is in the final stages of preparing the grounds for its annual one day festival which celebrates the landscape of Panboola and the creativity it inspires.

The Ephemeral Festival encourages everyone to wander through Panboola, to listen, dance, draw, weave, create or simply to picnic and enjoy.
The festival is being held on Saturday, April 9 - it's free to enter and visitors will get to take in the sights and sounds of sculpture, installations of art, craft demonstrations and acoustic music with Latvian Independence Day.
At 10.30am fLING Physical Theatre Company are performing 'Another Series of Expeditions' created by Beth Lane and Paddy Meessmann.
New to the festival this year is 'The Story Tree'. Sit under the trees on blankets and listen to stories read aloud by local literary lovers Kate Liston-Mills, Gabbie Stroud, Jeff Donne and Erin Feneck. Stories for young and old at 9.30am and 11.30am.
A very special feature this year will be a pop up exhibition by local artist Lorna Crane. Lorna sources her materials from the natural environment including driftwood, bamboo, and organic fibres along with found objects. Works on display will include mixed media, paintings and fibre art, all inspired by and connected to the natural world.
In a nod to the important conservation work being undertaken at Panboola, the Atlas of Life and Potoroo Palace will also be presenting information about threatened species. There will be several guided walks allowing visitors to discover more about Panboola.
The festival's name is a tribute to the ecosystem of Panboola being ephemeral wetlands that are a highly dynamic landscape. Rising and falling water levels create feeding and breeding opportunities for a diverse variety of fauna.
Refreshments between 9am-2pm will be on hand with Billy and Bloom coffee/tea cart and Marine Rescue Merimbula providing a barbecue.

Wyndham Basket Weavers and New Moon Spoons will also be on-site showcasing their respective crafts. There will also be locally beautifully made products available to purchase.
Also on offer are some wonderful opportunities to book into workshops led by professional artists. This year there is botanical drawing, lino printing, frottage and specifically for young people, botanical drawing with the multitalented Tabitha and creative imagination exploration with Terri Tuckwell.
