New analysis from consultancy Ndevr Environmental has found that that if Australia's emissions trajectory remains on current trends, Australia will not meet its very weak 2030 emissions reduction target of 26-28 per cent.
This is highly alarming particularly when science is urgently warning Australia to slash its emissions by 75 per cent by 2030.
Australia desperately needs strong federal climate policies to drive our economy from our present carbon-intensive industries towards clean energy sectors.
The coming Federal election is crucial as it is our opportunity to vote for leaders who will protect Australia's best interests by taking real action on climate change.
Last week's Readers of Letters to the Editor were again alerted to the need for political action on changing climate.
This week we hear that Tasmania is one of the first parts of the world to become not just carbon neutral but carbon negative by reducing logging! Responsible forest management.
After the fires and floods experienced in recent times, homes are becoming increasingly expensive to insure. Within the decade many properties will not be insurable due to their position or unaffordability.
To survive, we need to do everything possible to keep native trees IN the ground. With Federal Elections ahead - Let Your Vote be Your Voice!
No longer the lucky country
Over the past 30 years, from 1992 to 2022, the Liberals have claimed Labor had higher unemployment, higher interest rates, and higher electricity prices than under a Liberal Government.
As we have just heard, the wholesale price of electricity has risen by 141 per cent since this time last year. Morrison can't blame this on Labor because it happened on his watch. on the interest rate rise, the RBA sets it, not Morrison or Labor.
Don't lay the blame on Labor.
Out of the last 30 years the Liberals governed for 20 of them, Labor only 10.
What did they do in that 20 years that benefitted our country? Sweet nothing!
The source for these claims came from the Federal Budget, RBA and ABS, say no more. Propaganda powers on as usual.
The cost of living has spiralled out of control. Families can't afford to buy food. A wealthy country in third world standards. Poverty in the 21st century is unacceptable and it's all under Morrison's watch.
They say history always repeats itself.
Just like Nero did, he played the fiddle while he watched Rome burn. Morrison sat sipping drinks on holiday in Hawaii while he watched Australia burn. Do you call that being a good leader?. He's all self.
It surprises me that following the biggest cash hand out by any Australian government in history, where everyone and business seems to have received stimulus money for not working, we have trouble in understanding why Police, Nurses and Teacher are striking.
Let's face it, Police, Teachers and Nurses received nothing during the pandemic while everyone stayed at home.
They have had their pay cut for a decade, and have recently been rejected a pay rises which would simply maintains their buying power of the income they received last year.
It's no wonder so many teachers such as myself are spending our time in other pursuits after being treated so poorly.
Surely we as a society, through our governments can offer more thanks than this for our Teachers, Nurses and Police.
