The State of the Cruise Industry Outlook report also includes other impressive figures. President and CEO of CLIA Kelly Craighead said it the report “provides an opportunity to reflect on how far our industry has come as CLIA ocean-going cruise lines have welcomed more than six million guests onboard since resuming operations in July 2020”.
The report calculates that every 24 cruise passengers create the equivalent of one full-time job and that cruisers spend an average of $1070 USD per passenger on a seven day cruise.
The cruise industry was worth $64.4 billion last year, a 59 per cent decrease on 2019 levels.
There is yet to be any official confirmation of when cruising will return in Australia.
