Imagine sleeping in the same room where Rembrandt's Night Watch once hung for 70 years. That's the promise of suite number 105 (pictured) at the Tivoli Doelen Hotel, which has just opened in Amsterdam.

The 47-square-metre lair is replete with creature comforts - from a separate sitting area to a swank ensuite. But, perhaps, the most endearing aspect of this room is the Night Watch replica that hangs on the very wall the original once used to.

And that's just the start of some of the most exquisite Rembrandt experiences you can have at this 81-room property.

Head to the onsite restaurant and bar, where dishes and drinks are inspired by the Dutch master's personal favourites (apparently, he was a big gin fan), or join the hotel's In the Footsteps of Rembrandt tour, which takes you to his home and studio.

Just don't forget to drop in at the Rijksmuseum - only a 15-minute walk from the hotel - where you can feast your eyes on the original masterpiece and many others.
