Taylor Swift announces Australian dates for The Eras Tour 2024

Global superstar Taylor Swift dropped international tour dates on June 21 including five shows down under in early 2024.

But the 12-time Grammy winning artist is only playing in Sydney and Melbourne on her hugely popular The Eras tour.

The reaction from fans was swift.

A petition has been launched on change.org calling for Brisbane to be included on the tour.

Fans let their feelings be known on Twitter with one saying, "so apparently Taylor Swift hates Brisbane".

Another said, "waking up to Taylor Swift coming to Aus but then quickly reading she isn't coming to Brisbane was a rollercoaster. I should've gone back to bed."

Swift will perform at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on February 16 and 17, before heading to Sydney's Accor Stadium on February 23, 24 and 25.

The special guest is Sabrina Carpenter, a US singer and actress who released her highest-charting album Emails I Can't Send in 2022.

Ticket prices for the highly-anticipated tour range from $80 to $380 while the top VIP package is priced at $1250.

When the tour began in the US, ticket resellers were charging up to $41,000 for a seat at the sought-after shows.

The pre-sales sent the Ticketmaster website into meltdown with thousands of fans missing out on tickets.

The tour will be Swift's first visit to Australia since 2018.

Aussie's love for the popstar has a long history with her latest album Midnights her 10^th to reach number one down under.

The 2022 release also become the most streamed album in a week in ARIA history while also having the biggest vinyl sales debut ever, selling more than 10,000 vinyl units in its first week.

The album features hits including Anti-Hero and Karma.

Pre-sale tickets and VIP packages will be available via frontiertouring.com/taylorswift from June 28, with the general on-sale taking place on June 30.

VIP Packages for Sydney and Melbourne will be available in an American Express VIP Package pre-sale starting on June 26.
