Police were called to the bus stop near Haines Drive in Wyndham Vale, in Melbourne's outer southwestern suburbs, at 8pm on February 19.
A fight had allegedly started between three people when witnesses called the police.
Emergency services arrived to find the victim suffering "wounds consistent with a stabbing".

Urgent medical treatment was provided but the victim died at the scene, police said.
Homicide detectives believe that two alleged attackers fled the area along Vaughan Chase before police arrived.
The stabbing victim has not been formally identified and police are searching for the alleged attackers.
Investigators established a crime scene and called for witnesses of the attack to contact police.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, with dashcam/CCTV footage or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au.
