This year's Stayz Holiday Home of the Year finalists are all located in regional Australia, many within just a few hours of major cities, offering escapism and disconnection, without having to go far.
Stayz travel expert Sarah King said in 2025 she is seeing a trend towards people wanting to do less and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, something regional travel can offer.
"Regional destinations tend to generally be home to some of the best holiday homes in the country, with homes offering the space and ability to cater to larger groups and families, with amenities like alfresco kitchens, pizza ovens, outdoor pools and firepits making for a great getaway out of the city," she said.
This year's homes were chosen from more than 50,000 Australian listings on the Stayz app with ratings of 9.8 or above and stellar reviews from former guests.
Ms King said the homes reflect "incredible guest ratings, experienced and dedicated hosts, and stunning spaces" that offer some of the most requested amenities on Stayz from private pools to firepits.
