Trainer to the stars
One of the (many) privileges of being a journalist is being able to sit down with people you'd otherwise have no business meeting.
I've had some fascinating interviews over the years, but I met one of my top ten this week when I had a yarn with Dale Kalnins.
The owner and trainer of Batemans Bay Boxing Club has not only worked with some of Australia's most famous faces, he's also a thoughtful, disciplined and generous man.
He also makes for a handsome portrait photo. What a dude.

Giants on the South Coast

Power prices spark anger
Of all the opinion pieces I've written over the years, one in recent weeks regarding electricity prices saw the most responses from readers of any.
Several of those emails sent in by you regarding your own frustrations and anger at the July 1 price hikes led to my follow-up article published this past week.
Unfortunately, the response from politicians has so far been lacking regarding any good answers to the pain we are expecting with our bills.
