The Australian women's water polo team have picked up bronze at the World Cup, leading from start to finish in a 12-9 win over Russia in Sydney.
The Aussie Stingers were left heartbroken after missing out on a spot in the gold medal match with a 10-6 loss to arch rivals the US on Friday.
But they set aside that disappointment on Sunday, with Alice Williams scoring four goals and Tilly Kearns adding three to lead the world No.6 Australians to victory over Russia.
The world No.5 US will face world No.1 Spain in the women's gold medal match later on Sunday.
Olympic swim legend Ian Thorpe was on hand to present Kearns with the player of the match award.
"It just felt like we had proper control," Kearns said of the win.
"We lacked it a little bit in the game before, so we just wanted to come tonight and play the game we're so good at.
"We've got that Aussie brand of water polo that I love to play and I think we showed that tonight."
Australia nailed 12 of their 29 shots for a shot efficiency of 41 per cent, while Russia went at 32 per cent with nine goals from 28 attempts.
The home side set up the win with three goals to one in the opening quarter.
The Australian men's team will fight off for bronze later on Sunday when they face world No.6 Italy.
The Aussie Sharks, ranked a lowly ninth, stunned defending world champions Spain in the quarter-finals before suffering a heartbreaking 13-12 defeat to world No.2 Hungary in Saturday night's semi-final.
Hungary will face world No.3 Greece in the men's gold medal match.
