Narooma area police report: March 13

POLICE were happy with everyone’s behaviour at the Bermagui Seaside Fair on Saturday as there were no incidents reported.

Helper hindrance

AROUND 9pm on Sunday night a Dalmeny woman found her car had a flat tyre while she was in Mystery Bay. A 25-year-old man kindly offered to assist the woman. However, in the darkness, he accidently reversed into the woman who was standing next to her car, and also into her car.

The woman was taken to Moruya hospital with minor injuries and was kept in overnight. The man was terribly upset and was issued a ticket for not reversing safely.

Firearm found

A TENANT contacted police recently after he found a firearm inside a distinctive blue bag stashed under his house.

Police have determined that the firearm had been stolen from Victoria.

Bike theft

TWO pushbikes were stolen after they were left on a veranda of a local caravan park. The offence occurred between 10pm on Saturday and 7.30am on Sunday.

P-plater accident

ON Friday afternoon a female P-plater was travelling north along the Princes Highway in the vicinity of Narooma High School when she lost control of the vehicle.

She collided with a dirt embankment causing substantial damage to the vehicle. She was conveyed to Moruya hospital but released soon after.

The woman was issued with a ticket for negligent driving.

Theft from vehicle

A VEHICLE parked in the Surf beach area was broken into overnight last Wednesday. A watch was stolen from the centre console.

Police strongly urge people to lock their vehicles and to not leave valuables unattended.

High school havoc

BETWEEN 3.30pm on Saturday and 6.45am on Monday unknown people have illegally entered the grounds of Narooma High School and caused damage.

Rubbish bins were broken and placed on top of light poles. Tables and chairs were upturned. It is estimated the damage is worth $100.

Police remind people that it is an offense to enter school grounds outside of school hours without permission.
