Sea-level rise prompts council to refuse development

IN an unprecedented move, the Eurobodalla Shire Council last week knocked back a development application based on potential sea-level rise. The message is don’t panic but planning has to take into account the possibility that low-lying areas adjacent to the coastline and estuaries could slowly be inundated.

NAROOMA golfer Sylvia Donohoe is the best senior female golfer in Australia. She won the Australian Women's Senior Amateur Championship title played at the Royal Fremantle Golf Club in Western Australia in late October.

A WHOPPING 10 Narooma Surf Lifesaving Club members completed and passed their IRB (Inflatable Rescue Boat - Rubber Duck) course over the weekend. The weather conditions were postcard perfect with a total of 16 people undertaking the crew and drivers course from the Far South Coast Branch (Batemans Bay to Pambula).
