THE 2014 soccer season is almost here, and planning has begun for the year. The club is taking all registrations and payments online this year and will not be holding a registration day. Online registrations are not yet open – a notice will be put in school newsletters and the paper when it is available later this month. Instead, the club is holding an information day for new and returning players who would like to learn more about the club and competition.

While the major committee positions have been filled, the club is in need of some more volunteers to help out. At the moment there are just a few carrying the load and it would be great for some more people to join us, even if it is to do small jobs. Many hands make light work, and more volunteers will make our club stronger and able to carry on.
In particular, the club is in need of volunteer/volunteers (job sharing is fine!) to be: Registration co-ordinator/s – registration this year will be completely online, including payments. We desperately need someone who is a bit computer savvy to just help organise teams on the computer, print out teams and liaise with coaches. There may also be some enquiries from parents which will be strictly by email.
Coaches, managers and age group coordinators – of course the club is always keen to welcome coaches and managers. Having a team manager to do admin things such as contacting players’ families and filling in team sheets frees up the coach to actually coach. No experience is necessary to coach the younger teams and free coach training is available.
Publicity officer – to put together weekly reports provided by teams for the newspaper and also put these stories onto the club website.
Eurobodalla Football Assoc. (EFA) meeting delegate – EFA meetings are held once a month in Moruya on a Tuesday. The Redbacks needs a delegate to attend these meetings and to speak on behalf of the club if need be.
Line marking help – help mark lines on a Friday afternoon, ready for Sunday games.
Match day field set up – at the moment a small crew set up the ground and canteen for match days. More help with putting up nets, putting out bins and getting the canteen ready would be greatly appreciated.
