Thursday, February 13: Winners on the lucky rinks system were John McFarlane, A Geizkamp and T Geizkamp with the resting toucher going to A Geizkamp and the jackpot of $520 went off!
Friday Twilights, February 14: Winners were Margaret and Don Brown from runners up John McFarlane, John Verrell and Peter Benson.
Under threatening skies, 18 players enjoyed another twilight session on the green with Marg and Don too strong for Pat and Luke with a six shot margin at the end.
Wayne and Norm had a last end one shot win over Sean and Marty 'Tubby' Turner in a close game all the way. Frank and Joe returned to the winners list by virtue of an 8 and a 6 over the more consistent Ron (thanks for filling in mate) and Marty 'the seaman' to win by 4 shots and the triples combo John Mac, John verses and 'Aussie Pete' were never headed winning by 8 shots over the luckless Leigh, the other Peter B and Trevor.
Stop press: The Valentine’s Day resting toucher claimed by Marg and Don Brown was disallowed as bystanders thought it more of a passing kiss and Marty (Seaman's) use of his dog to put his opponents off was in ‘paw’ taste and didn't work anyway.
See you all next week, Peter Benson
A couple of results from the Men's Singles Championship held on the weekend had Torf Aspaas defeat Bobby Luke 31/25 and Marty Seaman defeat Keith Bowater 31/13.
