THE 2014 Sapphire Coast AFL season unofficially launches this Sunday, March 16 with eight clubs descending on Pambula’s Sporting Complex to compete head to head to be crowned the Sapphire Coast AFL pre-season champions for 2014.

The 2014 Pre-season cup takes on a different feel as hometown teams, the Narooma Lions FC and Bermagui Breakers FC take on 2013 season premiers Tathra Sea Eagles FC, Eden Whalers FC, Pambula Panthers FC, Merimbula Diggers FC, Bega Bombers FC and Cooma Cats FC in the new and innovative form of football, AFL 9’s which incorporates modified rules to allow for greater participation and safety for participants. The AFL 9’s format is being implemented into local Sapphire Coast AFL clubs as an intra 10’s program for kids aged eight to 10 in 2014.
Pre-season action kicks off at 9.30am with the first bounce at 10am. Free entry applies to all players and spectators with canteen facilities available throughout the day. Teams will play three games throughout the day, with two games being played simultaneously. At the conclusion of round robin games, first will play fourth and second to face third for a place in the coveted pre-season cup final to be played at 4.30pm.
