VIETNAM VETS: Geoff ‘GT’ Turner, Trevor ‘Stinkfeet’ Bennett, Bob ‘Blfob’ Caldwell and Stephen ‘Welchie’ Welch. These men fought together in Vietnam at the Battle of Nui Le on September 21, 1971. The Battle of Nui Le was the last major battle fought by the Australian Army in South Vietnam.

LAST MINUTE: Narooma’s ‘Podge’ was a last minute call in to play the bugle at the ANZAC Day Services. Apparently he hadn’t picked up his bugle for 30 years and you would never have guessed as he played brilliantly.

MEDALS: WWII veteran 97-year-old George Findley of Dalmeny with his son Bruce. George was finally awarded his service medals from WWII at the ANZAC Day ceremony in Narooma.
