THE Narooma Seahorse Golf Classic held over the June long weekend was fully booked with more than 150 golfers competing at picturesque Narooma Golf Club on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Club general manager Dominic Connaughton said the event was fully booked only three days after being advertised back in March.
“The Seahorse Classic has been played here since 1981 – for 33 years - with Brian Cashman playing every year since 1981, what a great achievement!” he said.
Dominic said another interesting story from the weekend was from Kim Murphy and Tony Dobbie from the “Grange” and Marsh Stanford and Rod Favero from the Wagga Wagga Golf Club, who have been playing in the classic since 1984.
Both Kim and Tony celebrated their 30th anniversary with matching seahorse tattoos on their ankles.
“Well done boys and to the many golfers who continually come back to the Narooma golf club for both our Seahorse Classic and open tournaments,” he said.
“The weather on Monday was especially tough for the early players with torrential rain at times and it was a credit to all for continuing through those tough periods.”
Congratulations also go to the overall winner of the tournament - Josh Reid from the Royal Canberra Golf Club who posted a scratch score of 226 for the 54-hole event.
Josh is another return player who won this event in 2007.
Henry Brind from the Wagga Wagga Country Club was the runner up with a notable performance from our very own Bill “Shooter” Durnan, who was the overall “A” Grade net winner.
