Canteen facilities are available on the day and there’s always plenty of parking. We are located opposite the Moruya Airport and Racecourse.
The racing season will resume on September 20, followed by a 50 lap All Stars Challenge in early October, which should attract plenty of drivers keen to take home the prize money of $500 for first place, $300 for second place and $200 for third place. There will be a pit stop after the first 25 laps with the option of a second driver ready to buckle up and drive the final half of the race to the finish line. More information on this event as the details are finalised closer to the date, so stay tuned.
We then kick of the 2015 season with the Australia Day long weekend Fundraiser for Moruya Oncology Unit; there will be a sprint car demo (date to be advised) along with all the usual car and kart action fighting it out for the new season.
Moruya Speedway is also hosting the 2015 ACT and NSW Motor Racing Board Championships and while the club’s current 2014 champions Nick Bussa, Jason Essai and Johnny Ralph will be keen to defend their titles, there will be plenty of other local drivers ready to take on the challenge.
Bega Speedway’s Race meeting held at Tantawangalo on June 7, had lower than usual numbers in attendance, but those drivers who did brave the cold and race had a great night - Johnny Ralph went on to win Aussie Sixes and Dave Clapson won Super Production in the new # 88 car – congratulations, and a top effort boys!
The AGM is held at Moruya Bowling Club at 6pm on August 30. All members are welcome and urged to participate. We will be looking for people to operate the canteen, Baldy and Wendy will be off adventuring, and have definitely earned a break.
The members of Moruya Speedway Club look forward to seeing you, and hope that you can join us at one of our race meetings in the 2014-2015 seasons.
See ya trackside!
