The list is on public exhibition until July 8 and includes houses, roads and boat sheds as well as graves and a bridge that have been assessed as significant by the Eurobodalla Community Based Heritage Study 2011.
These places include the Tilba post office, several buildings at Cadgee, as well as Lynch’s Hotel, pilot station and boat sheds on Forsters Bay at Narooma – see a full list in the online version of this story on the Narooma News website.
Five other places that the study has recommended be removed from the heritage list are also on exhibition.
The Community Based Heritage Study was carried out by a heritage advisor and many local residents through the Eurobodalla Heritage Advisory Committee and re-assessed each of the items, places and areas listed in the Shirewide Heritage Study 1997.
“The community-based nature of the study has made sure the findings reflect what the community values,” said Clr Fergus Thomson, chairman of the Heritage Advisory Committee.
When the exhibition period is over, Council will move toward making the amendment to the 2012 LEP which will also transfer existing heritage items, places and areas as well as correct drafting errors.
Heritage lists that make up the proposed LEP amendments until July 8 at council’s customer service centre in Moruya, the library at Narooma and on Council’s website, www.esc.nsw.gov.au

Eurobodalla Shire Council adopted the findings of the Community Based Heritage Study in November 2011 and resolved that the changes be included in an amendment to the LEP 2012 and the Rural LEP 1987. Part of this process is to once again ask the community, including the owners of the listed heritage properties, to have a final say.
