ON Thursday, July 31 the first of the Narooma Twilight concerts series will be launched at the St Paul’s Anglican Church. The program will feature operatic mezzo-soprano, Eliane Morel, from Sydney and associate artist and pianist, William Hawkey.

Eliane studied voice at the Canberra School of Music, then moved to Sydney, where she completed a degree in Theatre Studies at UNSW. She has sung in numerous stage productions, including Dido and Aeneas and The Magic Flute, and has been a member of, and soloist with, the famous ‘Voices from the Vacant Lot’ acapella singing band for a number of years.
Lately, she has been performing operatic concerts for discerning audiences throughout Sydney and Newcastle, including at a number of Aged Care facilities in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney.
The program will include arias from Bizet’s Carmen and Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro, songs from Manual de Falla’s Canciones and some 20th Century classics. It will also feature two piano solos by William Hawkey.
The Narooma Twilight Concert is on Thursday, July 31 St Paul’s Anglican Church Narooma, 5pm. Admission is by donation.
