With less than a month to go until the festival kicks off on October 3, founder and promoter Neil Mumme is in the midst of planning this year’s event.
The festival will pretty much follow the format of last year’s homecoming festival with two main stages, featuring traditional Blues musicians from around the world fused with more modern styles such as star Ash Grunwald who is back this year.
A big hit last year’s fest were the impromptu performances at Ferny’s Juke Joint, named in honour of one of the festival’s biggest fans and Narooma legend Steve “Ferny” Elmer, in the Michaels at Dalmeny food tent.
Great news is chef Michael will be back and Ferny’s Juke Joint has now been formerly adopted listed as third stage with several musicians already lined up to play.
Locals can pick up tickets online and also at Narooma Picture Framing on the Flat.
A guitar signed by all the musicians will be raffled off as usual and the recipient this year is the Narooma Lions Club.
The “I will survive…” girls in their pink T-shirts will also be fundraising for breast cancer research and awareness at the festival that takes place the weekend before their big event at Club Narooma on Saturday, October 15.
You can follow all the announcements and local stories before, during and after on the new Narooma Blues Festival hub page and make sure to use #NaroomaBluesFest in any social media posts!
