They caught a mixed bag of fish including 13 long-finned perch (outstanding eating fish), snapper, morwong, flatties, jackets, nannygai, and a couple of large red rock cod.
They also trolled up a rat kingfish (50cm) on the north end of the Island.
Had a report on Channel 22 from a boat fishing at Tuross Canyons of 20+kg yellowfin tuna – and will try and confirm accuracy.
The day before, there were heaps of kingfish at Montague Island (now back to reality - unfortunately they are all 50-60cm long).
One of the other charter boats from Narooma - The Sheriff, hooked up a few undersize kings today whilst trolling purple skirts on top of schools of bait.
Hopefully not too long before their brothers and sisters arrive (maybe even some mums & dads)
John went to Tuross again with the 'Burridge Boys' from Melbourne for a nice mixed bag of snapper, mowies, nannygai, a very large rock cod (poor man's lobster) and a nice gummy shark.
