David Andrew saw Theo, who hails from the city of Lille where he is also at university studying marketing and communication, walking on the Princes Highway just past the Narooma Bridge with a big backpack on.
He stopped and as the day was late offered for him to spend Sunday night at his place.
The next day David was able to drive Theo all the way to Ulladulla as the young backpacker was on Tuesday due to catch his flight east to New Zealand and the islands.
The 20 year old is on a worldwide camping and hitchhiking trip having spent four months in Asia and now the last three weeks in Victoria and NSW.
