Ice has been going in the background of the Narooma district for some time now and we have often wondered how serious or widespread the issue is.
There can be no doubt that its impacts on the individual can be and usually are devastating – we just don’t know how many are being impacted on by the drug.
We wish Katungal well with their fight against ice and here there may be some big announcements in the pipeline from the health service – so stay tuned.
Now for something much nicer and that is the wonderful concert at Wallaga Lake Koori Village on Friday evening – there were 300 maybe even closer to 400 people there and as many as half or more were non-indigenous people from Narooma, Bermagui and Cobargo.
It was fantastic to see so many people at the village and this kind of involvement can only work to improve the relationship between all and lead to good things - you have to love the power of music!
Finally, the Bermagui Seaside Fair is on again this weekend and this year the Umbrellas of Bermagui are back – they truly are magnificent creations and you should seriously consider heading down to the auction to bid on your favourite.
And check them all out on Page 8 to choose your favourite… See you at the parade!
