NAROOMA High School held their annual athletics carnival at Bill Smyth Oval recently. The students were blessed with magnificent weather, which everyone enjoyed.

Narooma High School students displayed excellent levels of participation, sportsmanship and behaviour on the day, which resulted in a successful carnival.
There were some outstanding results including a number of records broken including: Lilly Bennett in the 15 years girls’ Long jump with a distance of 4.86m. She also broke the 15 years High Jump record with a jump of 1.56m.
Teig Wilton broke the 16 years boys High Jump record with a jump of 1.73m.
Samantha Sly in the 17 years girls broke the discus record with a throw of 19.55.

The top three in each event at the school carnival have progressed to the zone carnival on Friday, June 19 in Moruya. Students will be travelling by bus and will need to pick up a permission note from the PE staffroom and return this and their money to the front office.
On Friday, May 8 40 students competing at the Zone X-Country in Wolumla. All students competed to the best of their ability in their races. There were six students who have qualified for the South Coast regional carnival in Nowra on May 29. Congratulations to these students and good luck.
They are: Georgia Poyner who was first in the 15 years girls, Lateisha Stewart was first in the 12 years girls, Allison Stubbs was second in the 12 years girls, Ethan Anderson was fourth in the 13 years boys, Georgia Pendergast was fourth in the 13 years girls and Josh Hunt was sixth in the 16 years boys.
