The festival runs all weekend – Friday, November 16 to Sunday, November 18.
“Last year, Friday night's welcome showcased what a friendly festival we have here with over 120 people from almost 50 boats gathered to renew old, or make new, friendships for the weekend,” organiser and festival president Smile Magill said.
Saturday’s “Jazz on the Water” in Forsters Bay last year had an estimated 200 people coming to stickybeak at the boats, and then for Sunday’s Grand Parade - the sun came out down at the boardwalk and hundreds of people appeared from nowhere to watch, he said.
For the boaties, it is all about enjoying hand-built or restored boats and sharing experiences with boating enthusiasts from all over the place.
For the public it’s a chance to check the boats, meet the skippers, hear the motors and see them in action on Saturday from 1pm to 3pm in Forsters Bay with live jazz on again from Second Time Around, and then again on Sunday at 11am for the famous grand parade of boats down the channel to the boardwalk.
Feedback from all involved says that our festival is one of the best as it “focuses on the boats!” Smile said.
