The students travelled to Batemans Bay to compete against other schools. The Narooma students were successful in all of their games, winning the regional competition.
This gave them the opportunity to progress onto the Grand Final at Homebush Olympic Park and represent Narooma High School at a State level.
Boccia is a Paralympic sport that is designed so that people of all abilities can play on an equal field.
The Narooma High School team came 7th in the state out of 70 schools! They only lost by one point, during a nerve racking tie-breaker against the team who came second this year!
They had the opportunity to play against some of the Australian junior representative players, one who is off to Tokyo next week to compete.
They were also excited to meet Dan Michel, a Paralympian who is off to Rio to compete in the Paralympics in September.
This was such a great experience for these students, for some it was their first overnight excursion and the first time representing their school.
A huge thank you to all that supported us along the way; Narooma Sporting and Services Club, Narooma Lions Club, South Coast Hunters Club, Narooma High School SRC and the Narooma High School P&C.
Congratulations to Effie Musumeci, Blair Ashworth, Connor McCarthy, Chloe Triggell-Williams, Kadison Musumeci and Luke Robinson who were great ambassadors for Narooma High School, we are very proud of you all.
