Town vandalism – Unknown persons damaged the external walls of the toilet block and scoreboard at Bill Smyth Oval with graffiti containing offensive words and language sometime between 4pm Thursday and 7am Friday.

In the same time period, similar graffiti was also sprayed on the toilet block at Ken Rose Park. Council cleaned off the paint at both toilet blocks.

House damaged – A Clarke Street, Narooma house under construction was broken into between Saturday and Monday and offensive graffiti sprayed in silver paint on a polished timber floor.
School damage – Several trees and a handrailing on bridge were damaged at Narooma High School sometime between Friday, November 25 and last Monday. Three windows were also broken overnight last Monday. It’s an offence to be on school grounds without a reason.
Rods stolen – Three fishing rods were stolen from the roof of a car at the Dalmeny campground overnight last Tuesday.
Fail to quit – Two local men were issued with a $550 fail-to-quit fine after refusing to leave a Narooma hotel at 11.30pm Saturday due to intoxication. They attempted to reenter the premises.
Cobargo shoplifting – Police are investigating the case of a woman believed to be in her 50s caught shoplifting from a Cobargo shop on CCTV. She allegedly deposited several items on her person.
Unlicensed, unregistered – Police patrolling the Princes Highway north of Narooma at 3.58pm Saturday were alerted to an unregistered vehicle. The 37-year-old female driver was found to have her license disqualified until December 13. She got a court notice for driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured.
Men’s chain lost – A men’s silver chain of great sentimental value was lost last Monday somewhere on the Narooma Flat, Midtown or the Plaza. It can be returned at the police.
Cannabis found – Police patrolling the Princes Highway south of Narooma at 9.55pm Saturday stopped a 35-year-old Narooma man and a search revealed less than 1 gram of cannabis. He was charged and will appear in Narooma court.
Holiday message – Residents reporting crime are being asked by police in Narooma, Bermagui and Cobargo to call the stations on the listed numbers, as the call will be redirected to the Batemans Bay station where the best course of action will be determined and local police contacted directly if out in the field.
