Hit-and-run accident – Police are investigating a hit-and-run accident on Lamont Street, Bermagui that occurred around 11.45am on Saturday. One vehicle collided with another but the driver left the scene before any details could be exchanged. Witnesses who observed the crash have provided details to police, who are now investigating.

Bermi-Cobargo crash – Police say driver of the Mercedes involved in last Wednesday’s serious crash on the Bermagui-Cobargo Road (see opposite) failed to take the bend, slid off the roadway and into trees. Investigations continue.
Wallet stolen – Unknown persons took a wallet from an outdoor table at a pool at a Murrah Street, Bermagui address sometime between 4.30pm last Monday and 7am the following day.
Rock thrown – A large rock was thrown onto the roof of the Bermagui police station sometime between January 22 and Sunday damaging a number of tiles. Any witnesses are asked to contact Narooma police on 4476 2044 or Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
Church plants stolen – Two new potted plants were stolen from outside the Our Lady Star of the Sea, Catholic Church on Canty Street, Narooma sometime over the weekend and the church is hoping someone will return the plants. In a similar incident, a thoughtless plant thief hit the gardens at the historic All Saints Church at Bodalla and its new garden installation meant to promote world peace. The plants were stolen from the new prayer labyrinth sometime prior to January 22, and similarly the church would like to see the plants returned. More details online.
Shopping trolley incident – Police are appealing for witnesses after a complaint from someone that a shopping trolley was pushed into their car in the Narooma Plaza car park sometime between 11am and 11.20am on Monday. Anyone who saw the incident is encouraged to contact Narooma police.
Holiday house theft – Unknown persons entered a holiday house on Riverside Drive sometime between January 31, 2016 and December 23, 2016 stealing a range of tools and a bicycle. The report was only made last week.
Coffee with a Cop – Far South Coast police are hosting “Coffee with a Cop” informal events at at Expresso Yourself, Batemans Bay from 10am to 11am and at Inthemix Bakery, Merimbula from 2pm to 3pm on Thursday, February 23. Call crime prevention officer David Bates on 4472 099.
