The major annual fundraiser for 45 Marine Rescue NSW units is closing soon.
There are $229,600 worth of prizes are up for grabs in the Marine Rescue NSW Art Union raffle, including a Toyota four wheel drive and Haines fishing boat, six See-Doo personal water craft, a Flight Centre travel package and VIP tickets to see the Wallabies take on Scotland at Allianz Stadium in June.
MRNSW Commissioner Stacey Tannos said Marine Rescue volunteers were out in their local communities selling tickets.
“All the proceeds go to our units along the NSW coast and inland on the Alpine Lakes and Murray River at Moama,” he said. “Every dollar raised by a unit stays with that unit. The revenue supports their life saving operations on the water, training and day to day expenses.”
Commissioner Tannos said while MRNSW received generous financial support from the NSW Government and boating community through a levy on recreational boat licences and registrations, it still counted on volunteers’ fundraising to help pay for vital safety services.
The Marine Rescue NSW Art Union raffle will be drawn at State Headquarters in Cronulla on May 30. Tickets are great value at three for five dollars and they’re available through the school holidays, including the Easter weekend, from Marine Rescue volunteers.
Tickets are also sold online mrnsw.com.au
The Art Union is conducted under NSW Permit No. GOCAU/1844 issued under the provisions of the Lotteries and Art Unions Act 1901.
