The Eurobodalla Health Service held an afternoon tea on Wednesday, July 20 for the Narooma Auxiliary who have recently donated a $15,000 electric wheelchair to Eurobodalla Health Service’s Sub Acute Rehabilitation Unit.
The Narooma Community Health Auxiliary have decided that they will close the branch from June 21 with their remaining funds to be sent to the Moruya Hospital Auxiliary to go toward their fundraising for an ultrasound for the health service.
This is with some regret as they have been in operation for about 18 years with four of the current members having been there for the duration.
Over the years they have raised many thousands of dollars for equipment for Eurobodalla Community Health Service, in particular Narooma Community Health Centre and more recently for the new Cancer Care Unit.
Equipment has included wheelchairs, over toilet aids etc for palliative care, physio gym equipment, pulse oximeters, blood pressure machines, equipment and resources for child and family nurses, dementia nurses and other allied health professionals.
Lisa Kennedy of the Eurobodalla Health Service presented them with a certificate of appreciation at the afternoon tea.
The Narooma Community Health Auxiliary members are Liz Connor, Liz Fell, Anne Hunter, Robyn Miller, Anne Wall, Bev Kennedy, Dianne MacDonald, Margaret Naylor, Susan Wales and Pat Wood.
