Eurobodalla families are invited to celebrate National Children’s Week with a Children’s Fun Day picnic at the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens on Thursday, October 26.

The day will include free activities for children under five, including dancing with DJ Matt Brown, children’s yoga, a 3Bs Playgroups obstacle course, craft using natural resources, face painting, nature walks, story time and more.

Families and carers, long day care centres, pre-schools and Family Day Care educators are encouraged to attend and bring along picnic mats, hats, a healthy lunch and water.

The fun day will be held from 10am to 12pm.

It is the fourth year that the council’s Children’s Services team has hosted the event for Children’s Week, which celebrates the right of children to enjoy childhood. It is also a time for children to demonstrate their talents, skills and abilities.

This year’s Children’s Week theme is based on the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child Article 29: Education should develop each child’s personality and talents to the full. It should encourage children to respect their parents, their cultures and other cultures.
