On Monday 4th December 2017 the Ladies played a Stableford competition. The Winner was Meridie Banson with 38 points and the Runner Up with 36 points was Julie Whyte. Balls went to 31.

Wednesday 6th December 2017 was a Stableford competition. Division 1 Winner was Julie Whyte with 35 points. Division 2 Winner with 29 points was Margaret Brown.
NTP Winner on 3rd Hole for Div 3 was Heather McMillan, on 14th Hole for Div 1 was Sylvia Donohoe and on 17th Hole for Div 2 was Ris Cheale. Balls went to 27 points.

THURSDAY 7th DECEMBER
The course played surprisingly well after the protracted rain and the DSR emerged at 71 for the excellent field of 140 players, only five of whom were visitors.
In A Grade David Southwell from Darwin finished on top with 39 points off his handicap of 5, one better than Glenn Mood and Andrew Thompson with Barry Podmore missing out on countback.
The scores were exactly the same in B Grade where Rick Porter came out on top with 39 points off his handicap of 16, one better than Warick Minett and Dennis Fry with Bernie Krueger missing out on countback.
Ross Giblett registered the best score of the day in C Grade with 40 points off his handicap of 25, one better than Stephen Paul who headed Troy Beecham on countback.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Barry Podmore on 3, Matt Blythe on 9, Glenn Mood on 14 and Phil Haynes on 17.
The ball competition went down to 33 points with 18 on the way home.
SATURDAY 9th DECEMBER
Another excellent field of 137 players found scoring a little more difficult with the DSR at 73.
In A Grade David Southwell from Darwin again found the course to his liking, this time parring it to register 41 points off his handicap of 5. Peter Ward took second place with 38 points while Geoff Lanham relegated Colin Pratt on countback to take third place two points further back.
In B Grade Nigel Roberts continued his recent good form with 42 points off his handicap of 16 to fill the premier position well ahead of Graeme Donohoe on 37 points, while Bill Swan edged out Rick Porter and Brian Brown on countback with his 36 points.
In C Grade Peter Bashford registered the best score of the day with 43 points off his handicap of 24 to emerge a clear victor ahead of Harold Mackie on 40 and Lyle Healey on 39 points.
The nearest -the-pin winners were Terry O'Callaghan on 3, Hayden Lang on 9, Ken Brown from Moruya on 14 and Robert Sayers on 17, while the ball competition went down to 31 points with 17 on the back nine.
Trish James collected almost four months of balls from the eagle's nest when she holed her second shot from the cavernous depths of the left-hand fairway bunker on the 8th hole and was not able to see the ball trickle into the hole.
Bermagui Social Golfers
Last Sunday we played at the Bermagui Golf Course.
We all played a 2 man ambrose competition.
Overall winners were Jake and Zac Needs and second was the team of Roy Sthruthers and Shane Grebert.
The unluckiest team was Mal LeComte and Jeff Nielson.
NTP winner were Roy Sthruthers and Jake Needs.
After golf we all gathered at the local oval for our Xmas celebrations where we played some games, had some tasty snacks, pork and beef rolls cooked by Zac Needs and other refreshments.
Graeme Sthruthers on behalf of the Committee thanked everybody for making 2017 one of our best years overall with attendances on Sundays and our trips away.

Results for Thursday 7th December 2017
A field of 62 players played Stableford today.
The A grade winner was Stephen Neal (9) of Wentworth Golf Club with 42 points.
The runner up was Noel Haase (13) on 40 and third spot went to Roy Matthews (15) with 38.
Rocky Lagana (18) took out the B grade win with 39 points.
Second place to Peter Buttrey (20) on 37 edging out Bill Tyson (21) on countback.
C grade had countbacks decide the top 3.
Dennis Olmstead (23) had the win, Arthur Worthley (24) runner up and Michael McCann (25) 3rd all on 36.
NTP’s 6th Noel Haase, 8th Bill Tyson, 11th Arthur Worthley and 15th Ray Stephens.
Results for Saturday 9th December 2017
On a perfect Bermagui course 20 teams contested our end of year Men’s Golf Presentation Day 4 man ambrose event and what a day it was with plenty of whoops and hollers as the birdies either dropped or lipped out.
The winning team comprised Dave Thomson, Brendan Matters, Henry Loth and Brian Jones who in a tight finish scraped home with a very impressive net 56.38.
The Runners Up were the team of Bobbie Finch, Paul Revill, Max Luland and Wayne Buick just missing out on 56.50.
Third spot to Rob Gammage, Mick Smith, Paul Batten and Nathan Batten on 56.62.
Our President Ron Lye thanked all of our sponsors for their generous support throughout the year and also our team of volunteer workers.
Thanks to the barbeque cooks on the day who as always kept everybody entertained, well fed and happy.

Join us on Sundays for our regular 9 hole Dad’s Army hit out or Mondays for the 9 hole Chook Run competition which last week was won by Peter Bradley with 18 points.
Our competitions will carry on as normal over the Christmas/New Year holiday period.

Moruya Golf
The final club run events for 2017 were played on both days.
Saturday was the Gold Medal playoff and was won by Greg Knight with a score of nett 70.
The A Grade also went to Greg from Adam Zagar from Goulburn with a nett 69 with Gavin Fitzgerald taking out the gross with 72.
In B Grade the medal winner was Nathan Cullen with 71 c/b from Michael Lynch with 73 c/b. Steve Mercer with 87 won the gross.
C Grade was taken out by Steve Winchester with nett 70 from John Fenlon with 71 with the gross taken out by Chris Tomkins with 91
The Golden Shot was won by Mick Johnston at 2.51m

12th Kye Parkes and Bruce Gruber.
On Sunday our closing day competition was a 12-hole stableford with a few funnies thrown in.
The winners, who each took home a ham were Kym Batt and John Fenlon with Sue Wallensky and Graham Cowdroy the runners up, each earning a dinner for two voucher.
NTPs went to Margaret Douglas, Graham Cowdroy and Steve Edwards.
The straight drive was won by Dawn Davies and John Cosgrave.

How amazing is our golf course?
So much rain and on Wednesday we played a Stableford competition with a reduced number of only 52 players in fine cool conditions.
The saying goes “fortune favours the brave”!
Grade A winners; first Sue Lowes [20] 36 pts, second Kathy Roe [16] 33 pts and third Debbie Coleman [16] 31 pts.
Grade B winners; first Carol Soper [29] 35 pts, second Helen Hannah [26] 33 pts and third Carol Bennett [29] 32 pts.
Grade C winners; first Akemi Fukuda [38] 37 pts, second Nancy Leaver [34] 32 pts and third Nanette Childs [33] 31 pts.
Nearest the pin on hole 7 Div 2 Carol Gardner, hole 23 Div 3 Louise Fogarty.
Ball competition went to 29 even.
