Bidding for the pig calcuttas was fast and serious, some going for more than $500 a race, and winners pocketing upwards of $1500 on occasion representing half the kitty.
The remainder of the takings from the day will be used by the Tathra Lions Club and Sunshine Boardriders Club for local community projects.
As well as watching piglets run an obstacle course to see which reached the sweetened milk bowl first, there was also a dog high jump exhibition, market stalls and a sideshow alley with rides and games for the kids.
