There were 22 Narooma students from Year 7 to 12, who piled into the school bus on last weekend to compete at the first show for their showing season at the Nimmitabel Show.
“With 13 head of cattle to prepare it was a busy morning at the show, all hard work paid off as students came home with numerous ribbons from cattle classes, junior judging and junior parades,” agriculture teacher Kylie Maher said.
The winners of the junior judging were Ebony Bromage, Yolande Thompson, Scott Negus, Tiarne Bailey and a student from Bega High School.
The cows also went well getting second and third placings, she said.
And the great news is that all the students and their cattle have qualified to compete at the Sydney Royal Easter Show in both paraders and judging, she said.
It was also announced this week that Narooma High School students and their show birds will be competing in the 2018 Steggles Sydney Royal School Meat Bird Pairs Competition.
Next up though for the students is competing at the Cobargo Show this weekend with Narooma High School taking nearly 20 head of cattle and 25 students down the highway to Cobargo.
