An excellent field of 140 players enjoyed sunny yet windy conditions with a resultant DSR of 71/72.
In A Grade Michael Wuttke-Hayes had a dream round of 44 points off his handicap of 14 to register by far the best score of the day, generously assisted by a five-point eagle on 12. Jim Grant took second place five points adrift with 39 points on countback from Bill Durnan.
In B Grade Peter James finished with 39 points off a handicap of 15 to win on countback from Andrew Vormeulen with Kevin Seamons one point further back in third place.
Troy Beacham, off a handicap of 24, took out C Grade with 37 points, one better than Jim Dickson and Trevor Owens with John Gregs and John Murray missing out on countback.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Andrew Thompson on 3, Alex Gardner on 9, Ian Miller on 14 and Frank Caruana on 17, while the ball competition went down to 33 points with 17 home.
SATURDAY, MARCH 17
Only 105 players took to the course under somewhat oppressive conditions where the DSR emerged at 72/71.
A Grade again saw the best score of the day where Chris Brown registered 42 points off his handicap of 8 to win by two points from Steven Tovey from Goomalling north of Northam in WA, with Greg Riley one point further back in third position.
Perry Pericleous came out on top in B Grade with 38 points off his handicap of 19, one better than Bruce Day and two better than Julie Whyte who headed Brian Brown on countback to finish in third place.
In C Grade Geoff Broadfoot finished on top with 36 points off his handicap of 29, one better than Lyle Healey whose persistence was finally rewarded monetarily and Peter Kape in third place on countback.
The nearest-the-pin winners were Michael Commins on 3, Steven Tovey on 9, Perry Pericleous on 14 and Neil Towers on 17, while the ball competition went down to all on 33 points.
Narooma Ladies
This Wednesday we welcomed some of the 16 ladies who participated in our six weeks of golf lessons.
The lessons were held on Fridays from 1pm to approx. 4pm and were each followed by 6 holes of golf accompanied by some of our lady members.
It was very successful and all the ladies were very happy with the outcome.
There will be another six-week course coming up in the future. We have a waiting list and if you are interested please phone Trace on 0438 420 739 to have your name registered.
Now to this week’s results.
Monday 12th March was a 4BBB Stroke round and the winners were K. Lawrence & B. Wilson 62.
The runners up were D. Wilkes & J. Boxsell 64. Balls went to 67 on a countback.
Wednesday 14th March was a Medal Stroke round and the winner of this month’s medal was M. Brooks with 72.
The DPP was won by L. McCarthy and the putting competition was won by J. Whyte with 25 putts.
Winner of Division One was J.Boxsell with 75 and runner-up was J. Whyte with 77 on a countback.
Division Two winner was M. Brooks 72 and runner-up was H. McMillan 76.
Nearest the Pin on the 3rd Hole for division 3 was T. Bennett on the 9th hole for division 1 was K. Lawrence and on the 17th hole for division 2 was J. Boxsell.
Balls went to 77.
Bermagui Country Club
Results for Thursday 15th March 2018. Irish Four-ball split sixes Stableford sponsored by Bermagui member Benji Hanlon nowliving back home in Ireland.
A game where friendships are tested on the final 6 holes where all 4 scores of the playing group are tallied.
The winning team of Walters, Kowalski, McDonald and Gawthorne came home with a great score of 120.
In second spot was the team comprising O’Myers, Brown, Finch and Scott with a score of 119.
On 115 was Nash, Cole, Manton and Ashton.
Balls awarded down to those teams on 111 points.
Results for Saturday 17th March 2018 - Stableford:
The winner in A grade was Warwick Moore (hcp 7) with 38 points. Runner-up after countback was Robert Scott (hcp 10) shading Wayne Buick (hcp 1) both on 35.
The B grade win went to Shane Roberts (hcp 17) with 34 points. Runner-up after countback was Rocky Lagana (hcp 17) shading Kane Fowler (hcp 18) both on 33.
Martin Fowler (hcp 25) found form to take out the C grade win with 37 points. In second place was Dennis Olmstead (hcp 22) with 35 and third went to Arnold Watson (hcp 23) on 34 points.
Club News:
The Bermagui Division 2 Pennants Team had a 3/2 win over Pambula-Merimbula played on Sunday 18th at Moruya Golf Course. This will have them playing in the final round against Tura Beach at Mollymook Golf Course on Sunday 25th March.

Bermagui Social Golfers
A truly wonderful morning indicated a good round of golf would be played.
The winner Mal LeComte had the best round from runner-up Shane Grebert and third was Andrew Whittaker on a count back from Graeme Gunn.
NTP on the 11th was Bill McKenzie. Hacker of the day went to the Charlie Bennett.
We had some snacks supplied by the publican at the Bermagui Hotel. Then we held our presentations and raffles with the lucky player draw being won by Charlie Bennett.
The badge draw went to Terry Buckley who is still on the mend from a knee replacement. Meat tray went to Sam Devrill and the Veggie Tray was won by Roy Sthruthers.
Taking the Pizza Voucher was Aly Taylor and the bottles of wine were won by visiting patrons in the Palm Room. Thanks again to our sponsors the Bermagui Beach Hotel, Bermagui Pizza, Triple 7, and Needs Butchery.
