Hosted by Ownlife Skateboarding, the free Moruya and Narooma events will include a skateboarding workshop for beginners in the morning followed by an afternoon of fun competitions and entertainment.
The events are for all ages and abilities and will feature giveaways, live music, demonstrations and prizes.
It is part of Eurobodalla Shire Council’s ongoing Tri Series competition in which participants can earn points at a range of different events throughout the year to add to their overall tally.
The council’s youth development officer Angie McMillan, said the series not only helped make the most of Eurobodalla’s fantastic skate facilities, it also provided much-needed activities for local youth.
“The Tri Series is a great opportunity for young people to have some fun outdoors and learn new skills at regular free events that are organised just for them,” she said.
“We’ve run these skate competitions since 2014 and it’s been great to see so many people come along and get involved.”
The events will be held 10.30am-2.30pm, on Saturday 21 April at Narooma skate park, Riverside Drive, Narooma and on Sunday 22 April at Moruya skate park, Shore Street, Moruya.
Participants must wear a helmet and there will be helmets available to borrow. They can even borrow a set of wheels on the day, if necessary.
Participants under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver form, which is available on the day or can be downloaded prior from Council’s website.
