An Aldi spokesperson last week announced the new store would open as part of the Narooma Plaza redevelopment.
The store will be the second Aldi supermarket to open in the Eurobodalla Shire, joining Batemans Bay to the north.
“We are eager to bring the unique Aldi shopping experience to more residents in New South Wales, and are pleased to confirm that we’ll be opening a new store as part of the Narooma Plaza redevelopment,” the spokesperson said.
Dan Greenlees, of centre management, said the redevelopment would include a full-line Woolworths and additional retail spaces.
It was hoped construction would commence in late 2018 or early 2019.
“We are excited for Aldi to be coming on board and think it will be a benefit to the local community,” Mr Greenlees told the News.
The announcement follows the approval of amended redevelopment plans by Eurobodalla Council in December 2017.
According to the centre’s website, completion of stage 1 of the redevelopment is anticipated before Christmas 2019.
The centre was not yet able to confirm which stores had been secured for the plaza’s additional retail spaces.
