A 45-year-old truck driver is lucky to be alive after his vehicle veered off the Princes Highway, plunging into bushland at about 1.30am on Monday, August 13.

He was trapped, conscious, in his vehicle for about three hours before a passerby spotted the incident and alerted emergency services to the scene around 4.45am.
Police said the B-double milk tanker was travelling south on the Princes Hwy near Genoa. There was no other vehicle involved.
Emergency services cut the driver out of the truck cabin. He was treated at the scene by paramedics. Police said the man had sustained head and leg injuries and was airlifted to Canberra Hospital.
Police are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
