Ecologist and research scientist Dr Olivia Reynolds, from the NSW Department of Primary Industries, will provide insights on fruit fly biology, ecology and management of the Queensland fruit fly at four workshops in the Eurobodalla and Bega Valley.
Dr Reynolds’ research focuses on sustainable, low environmental impact forms of insect pest management.
Fruit flies are a significant threat to horticulture, both commercial and hobby.
They can have major impacts on Australia's capacity to trade competitively in international markets.
Workshops will be held on Wednesday, August 22, at Moruya Uniting Church Hall from 10.30am to 12pm and later that day at the Cobargo CWA rooms from 6.30pm.
