It will be held from at 2.30pm , on Saturday, September 15, in St Paul’s Anglican Church, Tilba St, Narooma.
Music lovers from Narooma and the region will be aware of clarinettist Dimitri’s fondness for this part of Australia and some will have been fortunate to hear him perform on his three earlier visits.
Born in New York, he began playing the piano as a child before changing to the clarinet on which he completed his musical studies and developed his life as an international performer.
Now living in Switzerland, he performs widely as a soloist and chamber musician and has made numerous CD and television recordings.
For this concert Dimitri will be joined by a second clarinettist, Thomas Azoury, who completed his Bachelor of Music at the ANU School of Music before further study in clarinet and piano in Melbourne.
Thomas enjoys a varied musical life as a soloist, and orchestral and chamber musician.
In 2018 he performed throughout the ACT and NSW with the Dixieland Jazz group, the Zackerbilks.
The third member of Saturday’s ensemble is pianist Leigh Harrold, one of Australia’s busiest and most sought after pianists.
He is an enthusiastic and committed teacher, speaker and writer and is regularly invited to tutor and lecture at institutions in addition to giving masterclasses around Australia, in Africa, the USA and UK.
He is pianist with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Saturday’s program will include music by Felix Mendelssohn, Claude Debussy, Leonard Bernstein and Richard Rodney Bennett.
