For the first time ever, the event will also offer participants a chance to take part in a five-kilometre “Paw Parade” route with their four-legged best friends, and a one-kilometre event for little athletes.
The Event Village, located at Rond Terrace, will feature the Canberra Times massage tent (offering free massages to participants), a kids zone with face painting and a jumping castle, food and drink options, and the ACT Athletics Sprint Zone where participants can race against their mates.
The event is being powered by Salesforce this year, who are excited to partner with The Canberra Times Fun Run for the first time.
Heart Foundation ACT CEO Tony Stubbs said the Heart Foundation is delighted to be the official charity partner for the 2018 Canberra Times Fun Run.
“Everyone taking part in this year’s Fun Run should be congratulated for lending a helping hand to their heart and their health,” he said.
“We’re also incredibly grateful to our Heart Heroes who have shown a wonderful commitment to training and to raising funds to allow the Heart Foundation to continue its life-saving work in the Canberra Community.”
